So weird how despite being in the title, we don’t actually see Barney’s dad until the very last page.

In the sequel, Barney finds out that it was his mother who was cooking the peas – locks her in the attic – and then starves when he has nothing to eat.

The real moral of the story. Calvin will get to pick dad’s retirement home.

I have a close friend who hates peas. I’m sending him this comic.

I drew a copy of Calvin’s story when I was about 7 years old. Years later, my cousin found my drawings and didn’t know it was from a comic strip, and laughed and said “You had issues as a child!”

Don’t forget, it is Christmas Eve, Merry Christmas to all!!

“I GET it. I GET it!” Yes, but will anything change? “NOT a chance. NOT a chance!”

I think Calvin is about to learn what cruel means.

Barney’s dad only has to wait twenty more years, until 2037

The kid’s name is Barney, so every time I read this, I end up tuning the words to the “Barney” theme song.

Anyone else think that Barney holding the key (bottom left) looks a lot like “Ike,” Kyle’s little brother on Southpark?

Whadd’ya say then, Dad? Going to stop being mean to “Barney”?

So the moral of the story is, if you are Calvin’s dad don’t go down into the cellar unless you have the key to the cellar door in your pocket.
