Love the little smile on Bert’s face. Plus, limited color is fabulous with the ladie’s orange hair and Bert’s sweater the same. All in all, it just puts a smile on my face. He’s brightening up that corner in a grumpy ole man fashion. Love it!
The answer to when life begins is “above my pay grade” so that gives me the right - the flexibility - to terminate “what” I believe may or may not be life.
tackaberry: I think you’re taking the name of this comic a tad too literally. Where did that come from? But since you’ve broached it….
Since we can’t create life, we should not be so casual about ending it. None of us willed ourselves into being, and everything we have, right down to our DNA and the ability to take the breath we’re taking right now, has been received by us from someone else – as a gift, or, it may be, as a loan.
That calls for thankfulness for what we have, rather than arrogant assertion of a “right” – which is actually no such thing anyway. The simple fact that you’re able to do something doesn’t give you an automatic right to do it…only a psychopath, I think, would claim otherwise.
tackaberry – I apologize for sounding harsh or judgmental earlier. I realized that you may feel as you do because of something dire or overwhelming in your life. If so, I’m sorry for it along with you.
But please do think about it – that however life deals with you or me in any given day, it’s still an irreplaceable gift for each of us. And no day is ever without something beautiful in it, whether our circumstances allow us to notice it or not.
Great cartoon and comments too. Protesters can get tedious - like the neverending political ads on TV and phone (which I don’t answer), and Minky, I use one of those and have for decades (as a drafter).

What if we all posted in agreement with Jackass, er PSCHEARER*? What would he scream about then?

Wiley; this is so appropriate for today. You must have been aware we go to the polls today in parts of Canukistan.

Wiley has slyly (yes, it rhymes!) come up with a response to any of us posters, which any of us could just as well use to each other. He rocks. :)

Why bother with the sign. Just have the message imprinted on your T-shirt and spread your view far and wide. (I always did hate carrying things)

I think I get the point of all protesters, whether I agree with them or not.
This feels borrowed from Ballard Street.
