after panel 1 lupin no longer has his hat. the cat of adventure returns to ‘normal’, as superman to clark kent, batman to bruce wayne, until the next call..
Aww Lupin was living the dream! It was unfair to tear him away from the spoils of his greatest discovery. No doubt there will be an exclusive interview with him on the “feline interest” portion of CN news given by the CN’s only Feline Interest Reporter – Puck, lover of ham and distinction of being the biggest spoon. :)
Somewhere I have a photo taken years ago of a little female cat who was stoned out of her tiny little mind because she found a new packet of catnip in the cupboard, chewed it open, and was rolling around the floor in the entire thing. She must have been the happiest cat in the world at that moment.
This is why all bags of cat food are stored in the garage and when I have to open a bag I put it in a food grade 5 gallon bucket with an air tight gamma lid. The kitties aren’t quite strong enough to spin the lid open yet but they do know the sound of it being opened. I never knew 4 cats could sound like a heard a pachyderms when trying to get food but be completely silent when getting on the headboard for a high dive unto my chest.
I store my cat food in a container now too. It was my little dog that would find it and tear it open when stored in the kitchen cupboard. Sadly she’s passed now, but I still keep it in the container. It stays fresher that way.
PETA would be on our butts if they existed back in the ’40’s and ’50’s.. We had barn cats and house cats and ‘protectors of the realm’.. No wandering dog ever came around twice, if you get my meaning. The barn cats would see me getting out my fishing pole and auto-follow me down to the crick and if I caught a non-trout, it was gutted and fed to the cats and if that wazn’t enough, they’d go after minnows themselves.. Weird.. Our “Mama Cat” taught her offspring to prance along in front of the milk-house to tease the barn-swallows, who would dive at her and like a pro outfielder, would snag a bird or three and feed it to her kittens. This may offend a few readers, but times were what they were in WWII.. Our own kitty was a 21-toed ‘chain-drive’ Long-Haired Tuxedo Female found under a tavern porch one sub-freezing night and she gifted me with 18 years of peaceful companionship before she just couldn’t take the diabetes shots anymore.
I have a rescue cat who has only 3 canines left in his mouth, yet he still managed to rip open a bag of kibble and cat nip while my family and I were out one day. Now we keep the cat nip shut in a drawer and the kibble in a plastic, sealing tub.

Puck, stop interviewing Elvis. He’s another reporter, not a member of the public.

Poor Lupin, snatched from his dream moment. Love how he’s reaching out trying to get back to his kibble :)

Time to put the kibble in a plastic bucket with a tight lid.

Better to live the dream for a few minutes than to never live it at all. Love The Man’s outfit!

“Put me back!” Tooooo funny! I LOVE the way the plaid on The Man’s shirt is painted. BCN is art in so many ways.

Now when I see a news report on TV, I visualize the reporter as a cat, and I crack up laughing.

I see a cascade of kibble falling on Lupin, and the title “The Trouble with Kibbles”
