You saved them last year? As I recall it, after the leaves fell, there was a time when the outside world completely disappeared.

O wild West Wind, thou breath of Autumn’s being,Thou, from whose unseen presence the leaves deadAre driven, like ghosts from an enchanter fleeing,

Yellow, and black, and pale, and hectic red,…

Raking leaves was one of my gardening chores yesterday though I have far fewer to collect than the man. I was, of course, closely supervised to ensure I was doing a proper job. They promptly went back to sleeping on the bed once I was done as bulb planting is all together too boring for my boys to watch.

“Find your place. Be happy with what you’ve got. Treat everybody well. Live a good life.

It isn’t about the material things; it’s about love. And you can never anticipate love."

Written by Vicki Myron, author of “Dewey, The Small Town Cat Who Touched The World”.

BCN carries on the legacy of that dear little fellow. Thank you, Georgia!

Ah yes! Tommy’s fluffy tail can be seen protruding from the leaf pile! :D Although Elvis’ scepticism is by all means warranted, the past proves that Puck can save us all once more from the leaves—after all, he did it last year.

Back in my youth, 50 odd years ago, we simply, at least in my small town, never bagged leaves, we burned them in the yard. Or, we, if lucky enough to have a power mower, simply mowed them, which eliminated raking which to my mind was a good thing

Is Lupin ironing leafs between waxed paper? What a wonderful memory! Every kid should do it. Have kids select favorite leafs. Put leaves between sheets of waxed paper (try not to overlap leafs), iron gently with iron on “low”. (Last part is a “grownup” job.)Trim edges of creation & use suction cups to place on a sunny window. “Stained glass”effect is so pretty!

I love the logic of the reason The Man is raking up the leaves is to stick them back on the trees. Makes perfect sense. What other possible reason could there be?

I must be a back country woman. Everyone is using the plural “leaves”. Going nuts until Webster’s proved I wasn’t insane, just behind the times. Guess there’ll be no more “leafs”.
