Late in the day. Not sure if anyone will read this. My complaint: Sawtooth is connected to Mr. Bribery. For me, this has just dashed any potential excitement regarding this new “bad guy.” When I first heard of him, I think we were also told that he would not be making his appearance until much later this year, presumably after the Public Domain and Nitrates story. As featured, today, he may or may not be connected to the Nitrates. But he is connected to Mr. Bribery, and that is my problem: Mr. Bribery is turning into a 1960s Joker, if you know what I mean. In 1960s Batman, criminals never died and, if they went to jail, they’d just get out and return to their old ways. Not unlike the Nitrates in the current story, come to think of it. // Perhaps, as last week’s Monday and Tuesday panels were a “throwback” to the previous story, so are yesterday and today’s panels a possible tease for a future story. // But the bottom line for me is, Team Tracy has got to move on! Yes, Bribery is still out there. Yes, at some point, he will have to be dealt with. But for now, it seems as if Mr. Bribery hangs over everything. BGIC: Bad Guy In Charge!
I think today’s strip requires to be scored with Ominous Background Music! Just a little peek into the future, I guess. But for me, as apparently for some others here, Sawtooth looks a lot like another version of DoubleUp: big, hulking henchman in a grey pinstripe suit and with an attitude and a gimmick….

“Lips Manlis” is a “Dick Tracy” villain from the ’30’s, played in the 1990 film by actor Paul Sorvino.

Isn’t Lips Manlis still suffering a severe case of DEATH?

“Sawtooth” should be voiced by Clancy Brown.

Oh yes, Clancy Brown has voiced many a villain including Lex Luthor himself.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Sawtooth goes to the same tailor as Doubleup?

You will cut your hand and break it if you hit Sawtooth with a bare fist. (It may also get him riled up enough to take a bite out of you.)
