Ms. Thorndike is not wise to trust him, especially when he says he knows someone who just found the legendary Lincoln recording among their papers. (Thay would be Silver.)
It’s not just that Sprocket wouldn’t approve, I don’t see how Public Domain can get people across the country to trust him the way Ms. Thorndike does.
Looks to me like Domain has Sprocket in his crosshairs. He needs to split her off from the dummy riding with him and then do whatever he wants with the dummy. Silver probably has an equal chance of dying from lung cancer, anyway.
Interesting…Domain is aware of Sprocket’s uncomfortableness? That may prove to be a big thing soon. I hope that she comes out from this hale and hearty.
Wish I knew what the heck is going on here. Checked back to Sept. 2 and Silver and Domain are apparently in the car on their way to Thorndike’s place! Leaving Sprocket on Sunday crying to the music of "The moon that rose now descended. ????
Silver is pretty darned dense for a con man. If he doesn’t even see the possibility that Domain will toss him to the dogs (or to the po-po), he is in the wrong business when not supported by the brains of the sibling pair. Public Domain is slick, greasy (how much hair oil does he use per day, anyway?), and way smarter than Silver. Sprocket could outwit him, however; but she is in a tricky position, being a wanted fugitive herself….
