Sorry everyone, my goof! The last panel should read ‘Ah, but our alarms don’t shed on the carpet.’ But somehow during the editing process the line ‘don’t shed’ was cut.And both myself and my editor didn’t catch it. Sometimes you’re so busy looking for typos you don’t look at the overall caption.
One thing the dog can’t do is call 911 in case of a break in, fire, fall, etc. I had one installed in my house just for that reason. I also live alone so it was just an extra measure of safety for me.
Unfortunately when an alarm goes off it goes to a monitoring centre first, and if you happen to be 30th on the line for your alarm going off, you are out of luck and the thieves will be long gone…a dog is a trustworthy deterrent for break ins. They always bark and the thieves move on. That’s my experience.
ADRIANRAESIDE, I’m late learning about this strip, but it and Get Fuzzy are my favorites now. Frazz is only 3rd now. I love the way you draw Koko and other dogs, and you understand them so well.

‘On the carpet’?

Should that be something like “But our alarms don’t shed on the carpet”? That would be a nice, balanced three lines.

On the carpet means that they will give you time to think about it…I think…Google time!

Hey, thanks everyone for being so understanding! There’s nothing worse than one’s colossal goof-up being out there for everyone to see.
