Not content to dress up the Baby and the Reporters for just Hallowe’en night, the People are demanding multiple costume changes and photo-shoots during the holiday season.
Where does The Woman get those cute little suits; does she make them or buy them? I realize it’s a cartoon, but, something tells me the woman with the drawing pencil and paintbrush also has little suits in her house.
I love Georgia Dunn’s mind. This strip always gives me a chuckle and warms my heart and I am not even a cat owner! I have had only Dobermanns for over 30 years Lol! Good job Georgia!
There is no way I could get my two boys into little suits without ending up with bleeding stumps for hands. Luckily we don’t get trick or treaters; all the parties are in town.
Many have commented on the difficulty of getting cats into costumes. Maybe it just boils down to a temperament thing. When I was small, the little girl next door had three cats. She’d have a couple of other little girls over and they’d sit in the grass with their dolls playing dress up. Sooner or later one or all of the cats would wander up. The girls would dress them in doll clothes, and they just went limp and tolerated it. Can’t say they liked it, but didn’t seem to mind and didn’t resist. But if a strange cat or dog walked by, they’d be after it in a flash, skirts flouncing as they gave chase.
Yay!!!! This is one of my most favourites!! I didn’t think we’d get to see it this year. Thanks Georgia for the wonderful surprise! I adore Elvis as a bee! Suits his personality: Don’t get too close or he’s liable to sting ya! Haha
I love Lupin’s little pumpkin-shaped mug on the BCN desk. That’s about as far as the boys are willing to go voluntarily in honor of the holiday…and I bet it’s full of pumpkin-spice-something-or-other
Once again, I love so much how densely packed these strips are. Twelve panels, and every one has something funny and something fun to look at. This has more story than most twenty page comic books.
The closest I’ve come to getting a costume on a cat was when Little Cat was spayed and kept walking into walls with her cone collar. I bought a used baby onsie from a thrift store and modified it so that her tail could come out the back. She somehow managed to wriggle out of it even while she was sound asleep.
I’m in the minority here, but dressing animals, be they canine or feline, is just wrong. Woman had probably watch her back as her furry friends might tune into fury friends.
Wow, we get two costumes per cat AND kid! So good to see we get the original Halloween here, too. Seems it’s the type of costume, not the costume itself they have a problem with.
The funny thing about this old comic, is that Georgia Dunn actually found a Bee costume for Elvis… and HE LOVES IT! Go go look at his face in their instagram. https://www.instagram.com/breakingcatnews He’s so happy, it’s crazy that he loves it. Such big eyes and pretty chill looking.
The original strip was one of my BCN favorites, and this updated version absolutely does it justice! Mad, pouty Lupin and Elvis trying to destroy his antenna are my favorite parts.

Poor Lupin, always the odd cat out! Taco, Pizza,… Bat. Bee, Ladybug,… Dragon. One of these things is not like the other ❤

In spite of what Lupin says, I think this was thoroughly thought out. Bee, Ladybug, Dragon, Owl, Witch. The Jeopardy Category is “Things That Fly.”

I love the little pumpkin mug in place of the usual BCN coffee mug. Lupin has the holiday spirit.

Rerun. I feel bad for all the cats because lupin is always the odd one out, Elvis always get mad in costumes, and puck is always being called a girl
