I claimed yesterday that knowing the certificate of authenticity was fake didn’t prove PD had faked it (his lawyer will claim the Nitrates scammed him on that and the arrest will be thrown out). Despite four replies insisting it does prove PD faked it (apparently using comic strip logic – Dick Tracy never makes a mistake). Tracy had better get a court order for searching the estate – which no judge would issue on such weak evidence – or it will be a violation of the 8th Amendment and thrown out of court… But will be accepted on appeal… For the last 12 years the Supreme Court has had an “Ooopsie” interpretation. If the police officer says, “Oops, I thought it was legal to break in to the suspect’s home without a warrant,” the court by 5-4 rulings has said, “That’s okay then.”
Color is good; no point in being obstinately retro. There are exceptions, though. E.g., certain films must never be colorized, IMO. Casablanca for one, or Citizen Kane for another….
As for today’s strip (in color by the time I got here), PD, despite his protestation to the contrary, has a big mouth, big enough to be digging himself a deeper hole (earning himself a more intensive interrogation and ultimately a longer prison term)!

Methinks the Nitrates will be caught when someone either notices missing popcorn or smells movie popcorn when there shouldn’t be any.

Sorry to disagree, guys- I prefer my DT in Living Colour. Maybe because I grew up with Kodachrome.

I’ll never talk! Baloney – we’re counting the milliseconds until you try to flip on the Nitrates…

Beautiful artwork today. Glad the colorist took the day off; the inks deserve all the attention.

I get the feeling Tracy is really only interested in catching the Nitrates.
