The day has just begun.

They can’t ruin it, but it can get worse.

She’s not wearing socks. But if she is, they’re a matching pair of skin-tone … nylons.

I like her optimism after all that.

You know that your day is really bad when a garbage truck spews its entire contents on your car and you feel better.

Remember, you need to eschew obfuscation!

Look on the bright side, it’ll get worse.

If she actually learns them, maybe she’ll use them.

Pretty sure this one was written after going straight from an all-night work shift into swim practice and discovering we’d be emphasizing the other three IM strokes that day. I had been seeing a lot of improvement in my freestyle, and I was a little worried that my streak would be ending that morning. Which it did, but with honor. With IM strokes, with me, I’m so bad it’s all about the effort. No one’s judging when one can hardly bear to look.
