Honest to goodness- when my son was in fourth grade, he came home and asked me about this because his teacher had “corrected” him in front of the class when he said, “Frankenstein’s monster.”

She insisted that the creature was, simply, “Frankenstein.”

It’s not a big deal, of course. You just wish people in general, and your kids’ teachers especially, would be more willing to say, “I’m not sure, let’s find out.”

No, that guy is Frankenstein’s creation; Victor Frankenstein was the monster, for creating him (am I the only one here who’s read the book??)

… or simply the “creature,” as Mary Shelley more frequently chooses to phrase it. “Monster” is also used throughout her text, by Frankenstein and others, as well as the creature itself. But most definitely, the creature is never referred to anywhere in her groundbreaking novel as “Frankenstein.”

    The creature was self named……Adam.

It’s a legitimate tax return – the Creature is Frankenstein’s dependent (he made the Creature, so he’s the father), but since the Creature was created from parts of many people, he can claim all those parts independently.

Genius – his deduction must be massive!
