I’d say anyone who willingly puts ‘war’ and ‘Christmas’ together is deranged.

I remember an editorial cartoon from way back…ACLU lawyer stands next to a manger scene, says “We better leave this one alone – they’re using a Cabbage Patch Kid for the baby Jesus.”

Christmas isn’t really willing. Only commercial/business greed is.

There’s a war on all holidays, or at least a movement to abolish them. Remember when New Year’s Day, Easter, and July 4th were actual holidays? One by one they have become ordinary weekdays with business as usual.

Thanksgiving Day is the latest casualty starting in 2013, thanks to Macy’s, who decided they would open their stores on that day. Of course, the other major retailers had to follow suit. Then restaurants and supermarkets decided to jump on the bandwagon. In a few years Thanksgiving will be nothing but another fancy marking on the calendar, unless people wake up and take back the holiday season.

    Christmas will be next.

I don’t like fighting that feeling for 30 days because when December rolls around I can’t get into the spirit!

My husband’s company wages a war on all holidays. He now has to work on Christmas and Easter because the non-Christians will sign up to work. But then the bosses don’t understand when they all want off on their religions holidays.

I enjoy Christmas as much as anyone, but I’m surprised it hasn’t smothered Halloween (which I also enjoy!) yet. But, give it time…

REMEMBER THANKSGIVING!!! RESPECT THE TURKEY!!! It’s delicious…
