Um, “chili rumble” doesn’t mean anything good in our house.

Beans / no beans determines if rumble or not.

I went to a chili cook off once and the chili that tasted like chili won. People were creative but their entries were like calling Starbuck’s COFFEE.

My wife makes chili from a Cook’s magazine recipe, I make “childhood” chili. Both good.

Got me thinking now about a big batch.

After all, it is soup season.

That mens that it is also crockpot/slow cooker season.

We had an annual chili cook-off at my church. A friend of mine, who was Navajo, always won with his closely-guarded recipe. One year, having had enough peer pressure, he decided he would reveal his secret. He got up on the stage with microphone in hand, and told the audience his exact recipe—in Navajo.

Oh he’s scared! That stammer when she confronted him-he’s dead meat. (Which I hope is in the chili, because beans are just beans with chili powder. I want meat in there.)
