Happy Thanksgiving, Bill and to the rest of the sleuths and analysts who will obviously be working overtime as we have continuation in place of a holiday place setting !
I hope the avenger and his family will be able to find something to be thankful for after the recent tragedy and so I find it disingenuous to wish him a Happy Thanksgiving but at least one where he and loved ones are gathered together and in otherwise good health.
Here’s to you, av and Kelly and to the memory of your dearly departed Fiddler !
And this brings me back to yesterday and Tuesday. Tuesday, there were two coats on the coat rack, one belonging to Piston and an unknown coat. If it didn’t belong to the former Mrs. H.K. and it doesn’t belong to MIdge, then who’s is it? I believe that it does belong to Ms. Clampett, which might poke a hole in her story about not having a coat.
Midge’s shoes may not be typical of one “down on their luck.” Also, depending on the time of everyone’s arrival, the fact that they appear to be out-of-the-box clean could indicate that the wearer probably didn’t walk in them through the snow or mud outside.
Strange – yesterday I left a comment, and it’s not there now. But probably not significant.Somebody commented a few days ago about Clampett’s [name not known then] shadow not matching her physique: it bellowed out in front of her.
The next day the shadow of the coats bellowed out at the bottom, though they were shown as smaller at the bottom than the sleeves. [OK, the shadow wasn’t as exaggerated as the previous day, and besides, realistically the bottom of the coats SHOULD be bigger.]
The next day – Clampett again – the shadowing mimics the shadowing of the earlier Clampett shadow, though maybe in inverse.
Unrelated – the first day (last Sunday), as mentioned, this occurs in the library, and the walls are lined with book shelves. Every day since, no bookshelves are in sight, and in fact the walls are covered with pictures (all different) or windows.
The butler calling it a library, and a visitor calling it an office does make sense, especially if most walls have no books; two walls did last Sunday, making this room have several walls, not just four.
I stick to my feeling that the only one who benefits from HK’s death is Clampett. All the others lose out in one way or the other. Of course, we still haven’t heard from Jarvis. He might have benefited some way.
I think we should note the names of the suspects. Midge Gregory is the only one with a normal sounding name. The other 3 suspects have comical names inspired by TV characters and automotive ads (Notgo Mexaddams, Piston Puss. Ms. Clampett.) I think that means Midge is the prime suspect. The other 3 suspects are jokes.
Midge Gregory would have fared better with H.K. Krispies alive, it seems, to make a loan to her—unless he had already turned down her request, giving her motive to kill him in a rage. We still don’t know just how he died; but she seems too slight of build to have overpowered him mano a mano….
Just wondering how Midge got to the mansion in the first place … If she’s so hard up for money she probably doesn’t have a car or even afford a cab or Uber. & she certainly doesn’t seem dressed for a lengthy walk in inclement weather.
Hey! The thought occurred to me: WHO invited all these people over? Did they all show up at one time to be ushered into the old man’s “office” and find him dead? Did Jarvis call them one at a time? Did HK call them all to come over and get some money? I’m beginning to think that Jarvis and the hot chick are in cahoots!

We were all so focused on the unfolding mystery yesterday that no one mentioned actor/singer David Cassidy had passed.

Tomorrow will be Jarvis turn to be grilled. On Saturday we will be told the cause of death and shown the crime scene. Then the verdict is on Sunday.
