I wrote a comic skit about the “Defectives Return Department” at a pet shop, long about 1980. Some friends in a local comedy club ensemble used it for a while. The only thing I remember about it now is a lady trying to return a “bent cat.”
Dog’s do not recognize themselves in a mirror. It seems to me that must be part of why they have no conception of how large or small they are relative to anything else.
