Come back soon, DZ. There are squirrels in the neighborhood that badly need chasing.

When my dog left to chase squirrels among the clouds I spent months putting anything tasty out of her reach.

German Shepherds have super hearing, even 95 year old ones. Since mine died, I don’t have anyone to turn down the sirens on the TV for, or to explain when I watch a Nazi movie that everyone has relatives that they aren’t proud of. It’s been a week and a half since he died, and I have discovered that it hurts just as much to think about him, but I think about him a little less often each day.

When my childhood dog died it took a long time for us to really come to terms with him being gone. For a couple of years afterwards, my mom would catch herself trying to feed him under the table. Then she’d realize and tear up.

If you have ever loved a dog, you should read “A Dog’s Purpose”. Loved it.

This strip is very timely, as our dog is recovering from knee surgery. We have to keep her doped up to keep her off of it.

This touched me and I don’t even have a dog.

    Or any pet.
