we’ve been forewarned

My wife insisted on going to Walmart last night because there was a Black Friday special on my Christmas present. She went in for one thing. I stayed in the parking lot. It was an hour before I saw her again, during which time I had visions of her getting knocked out of her wheelchair (she’s a quadriplegic) by stampeding crowds. (Turns out the delay was just because what she wanted to buy was under lock and key and no one had the key.)

On the positive side, the cops were on hand, strategically parked by the handicap spots, meaning that no one was borrowing Grandma’s placard (or “forgetting” it entirely).

Well, one big holiday ahead. I don’t think anyone is making a distinction between Kwanzaa and Hanukkah there.

Not this year. Not for me. Going to keep it all low key.

Reminds me of the parade of madness scene in the movie Paprika

Reminds me of that recurring nightmare parade from Paprika.
