    They keep saying that forgetting is a conscious action, but if that were true I could decide to forget things, but not the fact that I was looking through things and choosing what to forget.

    I was thinking about that scene in “Guardians of the Galaxy” where Peter is trying to convince the group to save the galaxy and after Rocket says something smarmy, he replies that he cares because he lives in the galaxy.
