I don’t know what age a dog has to be before it’ll ignore a kitchen scrap, but I’ve yet to see a dog live long enough to achieve it. Our black lab lived to 15 and would still catch the scrap before it hit the floor, right up until we had to euthanize her because her cancer was becoming too painful for her. So would our golden retriever who died at 12 from a sudden blood clot in his spine. My rescue mutt is now 5 and she is showing no signs of slowing down either. People think we are dog’s best friend, but we’re wrong – they’re only in it for the food

Age never stopped my dog. Might have slowed her down but not stopped her.

Definitely not my girl. Old as she is, she would get up to get th scrap.
Then she would lick the floor where it fell.
