Some people I used to know used to have a recipe they called “Junebug Chili” which contained peanuts. The story behind the name (and I make no claim to its truthfulness) was that once a bunch of Junebugs got into the pot (it was a huge pot, for an outdoor group event), and since they couldn’t fish all the bugs out they threw in a bag of peanuts as visual and textural camouflage.
