So, that’s where that cunning thief Goldilocks ran away to, eh?

Nancy and Sluggo make a very nuanced cameo on today’s Bizarro.

Someone’s in deep trouble!

Sluggo trying to two-time Nancy with a blonde girl who had just moved into the area reminds me of a Scottish comic strip called “Oor Wullie”.

In a strip from the 1990s, Wullie’s girlfriend Primrose asked him to come roller skating with her but Wullie turned her down. Primrose then heard a blonde who had recently arrived in the area ask Wullie to roller skate with her and Wullie replied “Try and stop me, hen, I’m not bashful.” Primrose was understandably annoyed and tripped Wullie up.

It turned out that the girl Wullie was cheating with was a bigger cheat than Wullie as she had already made a new boyfriend and he took his anger out on Wullie. In the last panel, Wullie had a lump on his head, a black eye and a sticking plaster between his lump and his black eye. He also had a bandaged arm.

“Not bashful? You look well bashed to me! Ha! Ha!”

Va va va voom! Boy, NANCY Is madder than a hornet….
