The hockey moms meeting? They have meetings to support kids’ hockey that is just for mothers? Where I live, those meetings are called parent meetings or booster meetings and both genders are represented. With sports activities in particular, it was not unusual for there to be a generous number of fathers involved. Mr. Howtheduck was very active in my daughter’s softball team and my son’s football team boosters. Is this a common thing in Canada to separate the boosters by gender?
If hockey moms are anything like soccer moms, then God bless ‘em. Most youth sports programs wouldn’t survive without those dedicated moms who not only schlep the kids to practice, provide team snacks, man the concession stands, organize events, make sure the kids have clean uniforms, but support the team and organization in a myriad of other ways.
They are sometimes the butt of jokes and satire, but personally, I’ve watched these volunteers in action, and I’ve got nothing but respect and admiration for their dedication.
Yeah, Dad gets the glory as a coach and/or referee, but it’s Mom who is the unsung heroine of kids sports.
Oh no you don’t Michael. You guilt tripped your mother into blowing off an important meeting at work once, then when she offered to spend time with you, all you said was that you wanted her to sit around the house like a lump.

Back then TV dinners were nasty compared to today’s selection.

IMHO, Elly might be better off supporting Michael more a less for the team. Two different things entirely…. 8^)
