The Cleveland Browns are offering their Season Ticket Holders (such as they are) a special bonus. In the unfortunate event the STH were to pass on, the Browns will provide for six players to serve as pallbearers. Thus, the fan can have the Browns let him down one last time.
I live near Cleveland. Maybe the Browns are embarrassing that town and the fans, but they’re giving me the best entertainment I’ve had in years. They’re hilarious to watch. It’s amazing just how badly they suck.
Decades ago, when the NE Patriots were terrible (1-15), I can recall seeing a sarcastic “schedule” for their next season. I don’t remember all the opponents, but one was The Little Sisters of the Poor. They were supposedly going to change the team name to the NE Tampons, “because they’re only good for one period and they have no second string.”
As bad as the Browns are (and we may be talking “historic proportions” bad), Cleveland fans DO have this in their favor: Jimmy Haslam is unlikely to ever do what Art Modell did and move the Browns. An 0-16 team is always preferable to no team at all.
