Action speaks louder than words.

It reminds me of the parents who insist that under no circumstances is the dog allowed to sleep on their child’s bed with the child. Guess who always ends up sleeping with the child after about a week of “just this once”s.

Beware of pushover dog. Wait, why did I say “beware”?

Garfield, the literate cat who reads.

Seems like persistence works, sometimes!

It’s like herding cats.

Since, when do cats really read signs?

Oye sure and Garf KNOWS those signs ONLY apply to Other Cats. This IS his strip,after all!

The smile in the last panel demonstrates Garfield’s “literacy”! (and, bye-the-bye, you may be deemed “illiterate” if you CANNOT or simply WILL NOT read! Functional illiteracy refers more to someone who ‘willfully’ refuses to read!) And WHY am I posting such trivia now? If you follow politics in America then the refreshing of that particular definition MAY be useful.
