I wonder what Jimmy will come up with for A&J’s new digs? House boat? Upscale “swamp shack”? Columned plantation-ette? Anticipation, anticipation/Is makin’ me late/Is keepin’ me waitin’
I’ve lived my entre life in the same county, and Hubby and I bought this house when we got married. Neither of us wants to leave until they carry us out feet first, but at our age we are beginning to understand we may have to change our plans.
I can understand the trepidation Janis feels about leaving, but if they do go through with the move…. and they do so carefully, the sadness will likely be minimial…. because they will end up having more quality family time and will (if careful) find a great place that suits their needs well.
I am extremely sentimental, and when we moved a handful of years ago, I was awash with worry, sadness, and anxiety about leaving “our house”…. but I was very surprised that our new home has fit us so well, that I rarely think about the old abode.
Maybe for some. The feeling of permanance can send others into a nervous breakdown. I would like consistancy, security, but everything tends to get turned upside down. It keeps things… interesting.

But why do they talk of moving? They don’t have to move.

Nice juxtaposition of Janis expressing her desire to feel permanent, unchanged, fixed… static…
with her staticky hair, which now needs to be fixed.

No matter how fluffy my hair is as soon as I put on my stocking cap and then take it off, it goes totally flat.

This strip has departed from it’s earlier clever lighthearted platform. Now its either totally confusing or depressing….
