Remember, no matter how bad things get, it could always be worse. We could have an unprepared, unqualified, clueless international embarrassment in the White House.
You know, this just reinforces the notion that Breathed brought back this strip from the dead for the sole purpose of continuing the Trump-bashing with which he closed out his previous strips.
We all get it already, Breathed. You loathe Trump down to the core of your mortal existence. Now find another theme to develop.
Re international embarrassment: Too many Americans don’t realize how childish their self-destructive tantrum about Trump makes them look to international observers. Get a grip, for heaven’s sake, and take your medicine. Trump is the “Buckley’s Mixture” that America needs right now.
Conservative pundit (and evangelical) Michael Gerson: "When Trump is temporarily tamed by a teleprompter, there are political benefits in talking about national unity. But Trump has built his scandal strategy on a foundation of conspiracy theories, targeted by partisan media to the most receptive. "We have a coup on our hands in America, " says Fox News host Jesse Watters.
Does Trump believe this? Who knows? In this matter, sincerity is downright scary. It means we have a conspiracy-minded, 71-year-old Fox viewer engaged in a strange feedback loop with conservative cable television — each encouraging the delusions of the other. In the process, Trump is further alienating an already-alienated segment of the population, making them more open to suggestions that he is the victim — not of his own ineptness and corruption — but of sedition.
Why is this a danger to democracy? People who believe conspiracy theories cease to believe in the possibility of discourse and deliberation. When the whole game is rigged, debates can only be decided by power. At stake in our political moment is respect for the rule of law itself. A president who doesn’t like being subject to the rules is attempting to discredit the enforcers of the rules. This has been tried before, but seldom with a heavier hand."

I think I know who Frank is. He’s from the Outland, and Ronald Ann sent him to keep magic in the world during these turbulent times. Just a theory …

It is interesting that they have a security code just for this situation. How many other people have ridden in Frank’s ’copter?
