I thought Elly was over it – she’s been wearing the perm well for weeks now!

As I recollect, Elsa Lanchester in the 1935 Bride of Frankenstein was fairly attractive and hardly a monster. I always thought her hair was super cool. Elly could do worse than to be compared to her.

Of course, since this comic strip was done in 1989, Elizabeth may have been referring back to the Jennifer Beals version in the 1985 movie, The Bride. Jennifer Beals’ hair in that movie was inferior to Elsa Lanchester’s hair, in my opinion; but it wasn’t terrible.

“Bride” was probably the best of the three Karloff movies.

She needs some gray stripes and it will be complete.

Bride of Frankenstein seems more interesting than the other two selections.

I actually don’t remember Ellie having her hair this way during the original run of these comics,….

Personally I still don’t like her hair but it did look nice when it was tied back in a pony tail.

You can always trust a child to point out,“The emperor is wearing no clothes!”.

It makes her look like 1972. And that’s definitely not a good thing.
