Melissa: First Sergeant, do you realize that ever since "Black Ops" came in, the female soldiers are the only ones still doing any work? First Sergeant? Man: Look, Wheeler! I can either battle zombies or sexism, but I can't do both at the same time! Melissa: No, of course you can't. Man: Come back Friday.

Would it be sexist to point out that the only reason why the women are still working is because they have no interest in playing “Black Ops”?

Figure Mel would be relieved with the scarcity considering her aversion.
Everyone knows males have higher spacial awareness.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !

Just because the men are doing something the women are not interested in does not constitute sexism. Dereliction of duty would be the correct charge.

I say just let the guys play the game for awhile. It’s a heck of a lot better than the way a lot of soldiers used to blow off steam in the past.

During my days in Pakistan, Battlefield (with the Desert Storm revision) was the game of choice. Since my team ran the satellite terminal and site communications, our tent was where the gaming server was located. Every terminal on the site could participate, and usually did.
Happy Thanksgiving, all.

If women get equal pay for equal work many men would be house husbands, dependent on their mate for an income, defenseless against predatory females.

I used to love first-person shooters. I am female. Weapon of choice in Doom was, of course, the BFG9000. Yes, I used to step off elevators and back on to see what followed me.

I also got started on first person shooters when I was introduced to Doom. Quite a fun game once you figure out the strafe sidestep move :-) Unfortunately for me, not much time to spend on gaming these days.

..perhaps this comic is sexist for implying that chicks aren’t gamers??

Oh please. They were playing games on classified workstations 25 years ago and nobody’s going to tell me they aren’t doing that today. And it’s not restricted to one particular branch, either. USAFE got taken down in the middle of Desert Storm by the Jerusalem B virus propagated on pirated games shared by the Navy. I know because I was the one they called to clean it up. eyeroll
As for sexism, hey, I like a good video game as much as the next person. The scrambled eggs my husband made for me this morning were delicious, and I’m very much looking forward to the Thanksgiving dinner he’s going to cook. I would spend the entire time playing video games, except I have a paying customer who needs me to clean off all the porn her teenage son left on her laptop. I am karma. Woo hoo!
See you in Newland (Anarchy Online), gamer geeks. Omnitech must be defeated! Code Pink Fixers for Peace!

^ “have a paying customer who needs me to clean off all the porn her teenage son left on her laptop.”
Good luck! Are you sure it was her teenage son? Ladies indulge in porn surfing too. In fact I’ve seen more problems from that than from “sons”.

Doom hooked me as well. Weapon of choice: the shotgun. It took between 40 and 50 blasts to kill a cyberdemon with it.

The only reason we have war in the first place is to have a place to send our young males when they enter into the angry, “violence phase” . When young women enter into an angry phase, they become unwed mothers, not soldiers!

But it is real - real enough for the purposes of commenting, that is.
Do you agree that computer games aren’t real either, and people should be able to resist them when they have work to do?

I forgot that troodough does not celebrate Thanksgiving, like other leeches, he only enjoys the Bounty of the USA.

^You do realize he’s a born US citizen (born in NYC), don’t you? He’s married to US journalist Jane Pauly. And I’d say he’s worked pretty darned hard for his money. You got a problem with Americans earning a lot of money for working hard?

Working in the DoD (stateside, anyway), I have to agree with baslim.
20 years ago was one thing, but yeah, now I can’t even load my own software. Everything has to go through the local PC support.
