I’m fairly new to Ballard St. and its commenters. I wish I’d moved here a long time ago. So lighthearted and silly. Makes me feel good every day. Thanks Jerry and all.
The last thing I need or want is Lyle ( with or without ribbon and bow ) showing up on my doorstep. He is not a pleasant surprise !
He’s about as much fun as a root canal and, if given an opportunity, will eat you out of house and home, drink you dry, and cause you to comment in cliches.
At least he’s wearing clothes, today. I recall one Thirsty Thursday that he showed up at the Tiki wearing nothing but a bow and a smile. Fenton was not amused !
Susan Sunshine just gasped, giggled, and busied herself with her giant grinder.
P.S. Never ask him to sing "Tie A Yellow Ribbon " !!

or maybe he just likes to give “gag gifts”.

I would not let him in, I would probably have to keep him.

Looks more like “a surprise present.”

If he brought a basket of goodies, it could be peasant supplies.

Perhaps Lyle would present better as “a special occasion”.

I’m not liking where he tied that bow.

He comes to dinner empty-handed, wrapped like a present.
He’s the gift that keeps on taking.
Sorry, Lyle…. I don’t want to be considered gifted.
Nor, by the way, am I looking for a “bow.”
That joke wasn’t funny when you asked Maribelle Stephens…
Or Polly McDundee…..
and it isn’t funny when you knock on my door, either,

Perhaps he’s calling on his beau.

I know he’s all dressed up, and even combed his hair, but he shouldn’t have a YELLOW bow when he’s wearing pink and blue.

He’s surprised at how many people on Ballard Street can do a decent Lurch impression.
