That’s how you do Nancy in the 21st century – straddling the line between being trite and being accessible.

I dunno. This is actually a fairly decent strip today, all things considered. It certainly is a snarky commentary on the quality of personal communication in this day and age. And yes, Panel #2 probably would be more serious than Panel #1.

Just an observation…….Comic strips are created for entertainment on the day of publication. They aren’t generally done for posterity; it just works out that way sometimes. The so-called “Nancy Classics” are often as relevant today as they were in 1955. These past few days of “Nancy” won’t be in a few years (or less).

I’m old. I’m getting it, and I’m digging it. But then, I never could get past the van-art look of Gilchrist’ version.

This is a pretty good strip today. It puts Nancy in the 21st century and does a good job of it. The only thing I can object to is the skin tones.

Ok, it’s not just another cloying reference to modern technology (EVERY SINGLE DAY), it’s condescending about the kids who use it.

Seriously? Nancy wears her hair ribbon to bed?

That is actually funny – I think I will save it to my wall — ha

The kids still look like they need a doctor!

There is something happening here. It’s been a great 10-day run (sorry Sunday) from Olivia. Yesterday’s was a grand slam.

I just want to say that these comics are a breath of fresh air and I’m glad they exist.

Sluggo’s going all in on the corn!

The premise is OK, but it’s overly wordy. Here’s how I would have written it:

1) I “liked” you today.

2) I “liked” you and “shared” you.

3) Gee. He really MUST care…

Goes back to Ernie’s KISS ethos.

It’s just one week and her drawing already improved. With Gilchrist, what I did not like was that all the characters he invented were visibly poorly drawn compared to the characters he had Bushmiller to copy from (except Fritzi which was still bad because Gilchrist insisted on his own cowlick hairdo). For example, the character Phil when it first came out looked like Gumby was making a cameo. It did not look human at all. Likewise, the stray cat and the patriotic dog looked very different from the other pets. The original ones had just black dots for eyes while the ones created by Gilchrist had both black and white in the eyeballs. It’s like they came from another planet.

Better today, but still don’t get the weird coloring.

What Guy put out was far better than what we get now.

Classic Bushmiller humor. Dry as the Oklahoma dust bowl.

Not bad today. The characters’ color is still off. When do we see Fritzi?

Still liking it.

I am loving the new Nancy. This is entirely my jam.

Skin tones are really bad. No real purpose other than “to be different.” Just doesn’t work for me.

I am a fan. Big ol’ fan.
