In time, some bacterium will learn how to thrive on plastics and will eat the problem.

There are petroleum seeps in the Gulf of Mexico which have gone on for millions of years. There are bacteria which evolved which would starve without them and animals which would starve without those bacteria.

This is also true of subsea hydrothermal vents spewing hydrogen sulfide.

Iron Eyes Cody was an Italian.

And so our nod to “Earth Day” is complete.

By my own admission, I’m a freak about recycling. I get teased about it, and I know a couple of people who will deliberately put stuff in the trash to annoy me, but I don’t count them among my friends.

I read everyone’s differing opinions, and probably no one is entirely right. I just do what I can, and hopefully all will do the same.

I really hate it when my favorite comics get political, regardless of the reason. I come here for entertainment, not a knock on my conscience (I get enough of that in every other aspect of my life).

The garbage patches in the oceans would be perfect projects for the UN. It doesn’t matter if a nation is landlocked or an island. We ALL are responsible for the trash in the oceans.

With reasonably tight controls, we could probably get upwards of 80% of the funding spent on actually cleaning up those patches. Obviously we also need to work on the sources of pollution, but the clean up itself would be a great accomplishment on many levels.

If we can have giant factory fishing ships, we can have giant trash gatherers that have compactors and assistant ships that would ferry the bricks of trash to port.

They need to start showing that commercial with the native American roaming through this country and ended with: People start pollution, people can stop it. I remember that commercial as a child and it was very effective then and would be now. It should never had stop.

The world is coming to an end soon……….I know because I’ve heard that since the 70’s
