Off topic: I just found out last evening that I have once again been nominated for the Joseph Jefferson Award (Chicago’s version of the Emmys) for my set design for Tarell Alvin McRaney’s “Choir Boy.”
The play was performed last fall at Chicago’s Raven Theatre. It is a “coming of age” story that takes place in an all-Black boy’s prep school and revolves around the members of the school’s Gospel Choir, who sing modern arrangements of traditional Black spirituals. McRaney won the Oscar last year for his screenplay of “Moonlight.”
Here is a picture of the basic set. There were other set pieces that moved in and out representing a dorm room, a shower room, the school auditorium, and the campus green.
Clearly, the Green Hornet’s reputation precedes him in Tracyville, since his relatively small exploit was chosen by the editors of The Daily to be the lead headline story of the day (“above the fold” in the old broadsheet days; but The Daily, like many other struggling print versions, is now a tabloid). And he has indeed as planned caught the attention of the Board of Directors, the “capi,” of the Apparatus—an Equal Opportunity band of arch-criminals, though to be at the table one must be a cigar-smoker). What will Topper have to say for himself?

Good morning™, explainers to the Apparatus!
The Daily talks about a “Cental City” criminal. Do they have a R shortage?

Yes they even smoke! Won’t kill them fast enough. So now they know. Can’t wait to see Topper come in and answer them.

As far as any criminal is concerned the GH is just another one trying to steal their action as they are with the others.
