What about the small town hospitals and clinics that depend lung cancer sufferers for most of their patients?

Do they have eyes?

You could say the same thing about companies selling guns.

You’ll put so many coroners and ambulance drivers out of work, along with trauma surgeons, undertakers, and the people who clean up crime scenes.

The guy selling booze at the crossroads makes a chunk of his change from cigs, too, & think of the revenue from tobacco & sales taxes.

Who brought the small dog and the small cow?

Most of the tobacco growers in my part of Kentucky have switched to other crops over the last 10 years or so, and are making MORE money…

Just look at the harm done to Mexican marijuana growers when so many states legalized the growing of the plant in the USA. They had to switch to opium poppies to stay afloat.

Get that small child out of that second hand smoke!

What about the buggy-whip makers, the hand-loom operators, the cave-wall painters? The humanity, the humanity!

I actually have a neighbor who’s a blacksmith. He makes iron sconces and other doodads for Old Sturbridge Village.

Hey, let’s ban motor vehicles—just think about all the needless deaths from accidents-and sports- all those people who get hurt playing football and baseball and soccer- what about the skiers who break their legs. Oooeee I’m on a roll now!!!! Better yet, let’s leave the social commentary to someplace other than the comics

You realize that social and political commentary has been the whole point of Doonesbury for over 47 years?And if it annoys you that much, why do you follow it?
