Most of my older maternal cousins knew their great-grandmother before her 1980 death at age 89 (one month shy of turning 90). I wasn’t born until four years later.
Fun things to be told on a date….
“I feel comfortable with you… cos I’ve never really trusted pretty girls.”
“I’m glad you don’t get dressed up all fancy.”
“These are for you…. I was going to get you roses, but then I realised… you’re more of a daisies type.”
The corker, for the last one, was that it was in the car, on the way to see his mother…
and he was carrying a bouquet of roses… for her!
Those lines were all actually said, long ago… and at different times…. to ..um…. someone I … er… someone I know….
But then she would have to be kind to Earl.
Look at the cat….LOL….. “Please stop talking”…LOL

Don’t be so hasty Opal. some of the ugliest women I’ve dated were the prettiest.
But she’s perfect, y’all!
Perfection is a heavy burden — or so I hear.
Once I told my aunt that she was really homely. She had been baking and cooking and I meant to say homey, but I was only 5 or 6 at the time.
You don’t have to be pretty to be beautiful and inner beauty is true perfection.
The younger the girl, the more make-up she wears trying to look older. It doesn’t fool anyone.
