And it seems to me that part of the joke here is that “Judas Priest” is also an exclamation, like “Holy cow”…

I thought for sure he would be listening to Ratt.

What’s wrong with that? I’d expect his mix tape to have some AC/DC, Metallica, Megadeath, Slayer, even some of the German bands.

Interesting. This is one of those strips where Mark sometimes changes the punchline for a rerun. ISTR it has previously been Motorhead.

About the only music I WOULDN’T have on a mix tape is the late Miles Davis, and similar Jazz music (I like most Jazz just not the really experimental stuff), and the Rap music that is lets shoot all the ho’s of popo’s.
