He’ll probably be even angrier about the power tools than the binoculars, since the binoculars were broken by accident, but you’re breaking the power tools on purpose.
It’s been so long since my own childhood (which was not only is the last century but the last millennia as well), but this was sort of my father’s approach to things as well as I got older. I had my own widget, let us say. If I broke it or couldn’t find it, that was on me, not on him. (This did not apply to automobiles, having grown up in the era of the “family car.” I could use it, once licensed and insured; but I sort of thought that if I did have an accident, I hoped I would be the only fatality – because if not, my dad would kill me!)

Sorry, Calvin, your Dad is only going to let you touch stuff that has Fisher Price written on it.

When I was young I got a set of Incredible Hulk kiddie binoculars. (It included a compass.)

What is it with Hobbes and babes? They’re not even tigers like him.

I’m a tad surprised Calvin isn’t being more circumspect after the bitter recriminations over dad’s binoculars.

LOL- great laugh with this one. I love how Calvin’s logic works.

Sorry I haven’t been here for a while. I just really don’t like the binoculars arc.

I think your dad would catch on right away, Calvin. Enjoy your gift.

Dad’s created a monster. Then again, I’m sure he’s told himself that every day of Calvin’s life.

I find it Nikon to impossible that his dad gave him his own. Probably after a Steiner or two of beer. But I don’t care because I Leica this comic.

I still can’t figure out how Calvin pulverized the first pair… I couldn’t do that if I tried!
hagarthehorrible almost 7 years ago
Pulvarisation of the binacolurs is possible when Calvin’s sledge going over it at full throttle. Hobbes idea of looking around for babes is cute.

Calvin? You got off lightly. Don’t push it.
rgcviper almost 7 years ago
Noooo. This CAN’T end well for Calvin.
However, it can make me laugh. Good one.

I remember being about Calvin’s age and having a pair of Fisher-Price binoculars. I loved them.
