Seems like Edison and Tesla had this argument a long time ago.

Well, at least their topic of conversation is current…

Yes, I know, that was revolting, but that is no impedance to bad puns.

They need some transforming to be mutually happy.

D.C. has serious transmission limitations. Any geek can tell you that.

If AC is so great, why do all electronics convert it to DC?

AC/DC is the best electricly named band.

AC is best for long distance transmission. Ask Nikola Tesla. DC is best for powering an electric car with battery storage. Ask Elon Musk, whose cars ironically are named after Tesla.

AC is the best working current. Computers and other electronics have a saw-tooth generator to change the DC to AC and to have stable timing. A high enough frequency closely resembles DC, much as small changes in the angles of a straight line makes it a circle. If we were to change the frequency of household electricity from 60 Hz to 300 Hz, the size of electrical motors, (ac compressors) would be a quarter of the size they are now and would use 1/5 of the power they now consume, like LED’s use 5W of power to produce 100W of light. But to get the change needed is too great of an effort.

Congratulations Go Comics in doubling your clicks – oh wait, its just because of your idiotic ‘Overview’. I’m sure your advertisers don’t mind paying you more for nothing though.
