John is just going to shake his head on this one. What’s Lizzie going to weight? 8 – 10 pounds? Add that plus a few pounds of the pack, and that’s nothing to a guy. That’s hardly a comparison to the weight a woman gains during pregnancy. Put a heavy bowling ball in there with the baby and it would be closer. Also if the bowling ball could kick your bladder a few times that would help John get the experience.
The way my son cried every time he was put in one of those things made me wonder if the 9 months isn’t always so great for the kid either. He was fine when we carried him regular, but didn’t like that pouch carrier thing at all.
I didn’t get that big until my 7th month so technically, it was only about 2 months for me. I was also very lucky in that I didn’t have morning sickness at all. My feet didn’t swell up until the 8th month. All in all I had a perfect pregnancy and a very fast birth (natural birth) of 5 hours labor and literally (it’s even in my medical records) 2 mins of pushing. After such a perfect pregnancy and delivery, I decided to not ruin that record by having another child. 10 years later, I’m happy I stopped at one child. We have a wonderful little family just me, him, and the hubby.

I wonder if John first asked her what it was like, or if she just did this unprompted.

A memory strip within a memory strip. I hope this doesn’t end up like the Ummagumma album cover.

I had one of those carriers. The first time I used it, I was surprised how much it reminded me of what pregnant felt like.

What’s wrong with carring the little one on one’s back, like they do in Japan? Much more comfortable, and your arms are freer.

Except John won’t have to deal with having a little foot shoved up in his ribs and the mind numbing pain it can cause.

Maybe Kangaroos have the right of it.

She should attach one of those machines that shows men how labor pains feel, even the Braxton-Hicks contractions!
