For clarity, I think this is a tech joke, which makes it maybe the third O.J. has done (without counting, because I’m really lazy).

Nancy has entered the internet age. And it looks she bumped Sluggo off. BING!

I stream, you stream, we all stream….

for watching something with ice cream.

They are sharing a Netflix account which only allows a limited number of screens to be used simultaneously.

Nancy and Sluggo never need to plug their laptops in. I guess they charge them between panels.

Something tells me that Sluggo’s computer has been hacked. I wouldn’t want to guess who did that.

Sluggo, being impecunious, is piggybacking off of Nancy’s account. Meanwhile, Nancy and her new chum are pulling a Jetsons and clandestinely watching a Fred Flintstone video in class. This, in turn, exceeds the useage limits on Nancy’s (presumably throttled back) account, resulting on Sluggo being kicked off.

…They’re right. When you have to explain the joke, well…

At least Nancy is being in character, sneaking a vid into the classroom.

I guess I am not tech savvy enough to recognize all the permutations people have suggested in the comments above.

For me, I was presuming that Sluggo and Nancy and her friend were all at school and using wifi and somehow with Nancy and her robotics friend watching a video caused Sluggo to be kicked off the wifi. But…. I guess the other explanations are more likely correct…. but they are a bit beyond my knowledge.

Ahh Nancy in the modern age. Its awesome to no longer be confused by references to old things that don’t exist anymore.

Or maybe instead of watching us oldsters get confused, you get to watch us decide we aren’t welcome. Kind of like when a ’toon that used to be in English with a little other language thrown in suddenly decides to eliminate English usage all together. Ok. There are other ’toons in the sea…
