“Solo climb,” “solo achievement,” “solo entrance” … indeed, seem to imply a certain cachet…

“Red Solo cup” …. not so much.

I’m making my first solo road trip this summer! And for me, that will be impressive. For 45 years, I’ve relied on someone else to drive or at least be there to navigate while I drove part of the trip. Or else I’d take Greyhound or Amtrak. It’s time I learned to make a long road trip on my own. I’ll impress myself if I manage to make it without getting lost. I intend to get a GPS, but stuff still happens.

My life has been very impressive.

There used to be a place in L.A. that made a six pound burrito. If you could eat one solo in half an hour, you won fifty dollars.

One day a five foot tall woman walked in and did it. The owner said if she repeated it the next day, he’d make it a hundred. She did. He challenged her again for five hundred. And she made her rent for the month.
