Looks just like my grandfather’s car when I was growing up. Good memories. I’m sure he was proud of you, and I know you’ll always miss him. Take care.

1931 – 2017 with my dad, the emptiness of heart and the fullness of love being felt at the same time is almost beyond words. David Gates’ song Everything I Own is about his father passing, it comes close to summing it up. Much Love to you.

‘54 is close to the first year I can personally remember. It wasn’t 100% rosy. Polio and endemic racism was a drag, but if you were lucky, it was a golden age, especially for kids. I wonder if it really will be the last time kids could have a ball being kids. It’s a mercy that today, kids don’t know what it was like then.

And it was a time when a twenty year old guy like this, with his ’54 Chevy, was filled with hopes and dreams that he would largely make come true and bless his children with.

I know how much your Dad meant to you.

Today is not only Father’s Day, but also ( had he lived ) my father’s 106th birthday. He’s been gone 25 years ,and there’s still not a day goes by, that I don’t think of him.

Father’s Day is a day to honor our dads whether they are with us or not.

Great picture! So sorry for your loss. My dad died 2 years ago at age 92. He was a WWII pilot trainer, the one who rode with new pilots in a P-51. He always wondered how many of his students made it through the war.
