If you have a cat, you have a few larger than normal “holes” in your screens!

    Spider-Cat, Spider-Cat, does whatever a Spider-Cat does…

But alas, the Woman does not seem to appreciate Spider-Cat.

Of all the cats we’ve had only Gracie would cling to the screen. However, brother George figured out how to use his claws to flick the sliding screen door out of the track. He snuck out that way once. After that we had to keep the glass door at least half closed.

“Force field”. I just love how Georgia thinks that the cats think about the things that cats think about.

i used to keep the windows wide open, and the babies loved to sit on the window sill and smell the outside air through the screens. to my indoor kitties, the fresh air smell was intoxicating. one night, though, i heard something out on the deck. the kitchen window is low to the ground, and i was afraid a creature was out there that would burst through the screen, and/or the babies would jump out. i opened the windows only part-way after that.

The really fun part comes when the claws get hung and you get that pitiful mew because try as they might that can’t get unhung. For us that mostly happens with Smokey. Nine times out of ten she gets her claws out of the screen. The tenth time she’s hung and starts crying for help.

Hubby and I once had a neighborhood stray kittie adopt us. Whitey (appropriately named because she was a white cat) would guard the neighborhood during the day and come into our house to spend the night. Every morning we would let her out before we left for work. One morning I left first and hubby didn’t realize Whitey was still sleeping in the house and he left without letting her out. Well, we paid for that mistake because when we got home, there was a huge hole in one of our screen windows! She wasn’t about to let a “minor” thing like people forgetting to let her out keep her from her daily patrol! Other than that incident, Whitey never destroyed any furniture or scratched us either! She was actually one of the most mild mannered kitties we ever had!

I’m sure my two mutter under their breath about the “force fields” in my house :) Without those darn things they would so be able to get that cheeky squirrel and those annoying birds. The current bane of their existence is a family of Stellar Jays that not only hop around on the lawn but look for bugs in the hanging basket just outside the living room window.

It’s all fun and games until the screens get replaced with glass. Thunk, skitter, splat, and dirty looks.

You just know that Lupin has or will test to see what else he can cling to.

Good morning and happy Friday/Friesday/TGIF, gentle orbsters and orbabies. Paul gets his feeding tube inserted next Tuesday. This is a precautionary measure so we can keep his calorie intake at its proper level in case he has difficulty swallowing during and after his radiation treatment.

Hugs, bumps and boops to any orb that needs them. Thank you, everyone, for your support.

The force field an “enterprising” idea, the “klingons” are expected to remain to prevent a “trek” through the “neutral zone” aka the backyard.

A Cat of Adventure should be able to figure out a way to bypass the force field.

Woman is about to yell at Lupin. He, of course won’t hear her, and will continue being the Cat of Adventure.

I’m just back after watching a cat stand-off. Two male ferals (apparently) wanting to claim the rights of hanging out over my bear cave. Unfortunately, these fellers scared off my cat who was here on her evening visit, who fled from the scene. Don’t worry, for she made sure she marked the territory as hers before she fled to her neighbouring hangout. These two idiots, however, refuse my friendship and any food I offer them. Maybe they secretly come back and eat it when I’m not looking. Stupid cats. I’ve seen several cats, male and female, co existing in the same place. But over here, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Very territorial felines. But I saw something I’ve never seen before. One male was above, and looking down over the other, while the one below stood on his hind legs and reared with his two paws in the air, with a strange meowing sound, like a sound they make when they confront another rival male. The sound isn’t the thing, but I haven’t seen a cat rear on two legs and stand like that in a standoff. We bears do that a lot, standing on our legs and rising two arms in the air to claw the other. Maybe he was copying me or the humans, who apparently look scary to him, standing on two legs, as he runs away on the sight of humans (and bears). I haven’t seen a cat do that till now.

I hope the screen is tight. We had a second floor screen come loose twice (two different ones and had a kitty fall through. Fortunately both kitties were okay, but it scared us to death.

My cat would get herself into this situation and then cry out to me as if to say “Help! this thing attacked ME…and look, it still won’t let go”

Screen assault is bad, it’s true, but I’ve got one who’ll wreak destruction on a monumental scale by targeting Venetian blinds. My god, he’s relentless! I had to become an expert in slat replacement until I finally threw my hands up in dispair and swapped out the vinyl blinds with wood or aluminum. The little bugger cost me hundreds of dollars in Venetian blinds.

That little Lupin is certainly one cat that loves adventure. I suppose if something goes wrong in the household, it is Lupin who is questioned first. LOL!

My baby pushed a screen out and escaped into the backyard for a week this spring. Lupin s on a roll of badness right now. Who knows, maybe Tommy can jump in this time.
