Integrity and accountability are rare in national politics, and in some state politics as well. Ethics and principles are not what you hold other people to. They are the standards to which you hold yourself.

On the other hand, if those with principles resign everytime they err, who would be left?

Never mind. I have my answer.

So far, Lacy has not shown the slightest sign of any concern for the effect of her actions on her own people. Her entire thought process is devoted to one and only one person: herself. That’s way less than admirable. She’s ending their jobs as well as her own. She should care about that. She doesn’t.

A politician with a sense of honor and decency. Remember those?

That’s right lacy, you caused a problem so you quit. Instead of trying to stay and correct the problem you recognize you allow others who do not recognize it as a problem to try and correct the problem. If you had any honor at all you would work on correcting whatever you have screwed up rather than just quitting and trying to wash your hand of it. But that is the way government works that if you do not like what someone is saying you get up and walk out in protest rather than trying to defend your opinion. What you really should do is take the military approach and find someone to take the blame and fire them. While taking a course on how to delegate one of the key points brought out was that then one thing you cannot delegate is responsibility. However they did not cover the point that although you cannot delegate responsibility you can find a scapegoat and punish them for your failure. But you must do it quickly enough after the problem is discovered to prevent anyone from realizing who actually screwed up.

Well — if she really felt responsible she should have stepped up and done the hard work to ensure it didn’t happen again instead of running away.
