After a few pints of root beer, one block may seem like a long way to go.

Keep on singing Snoopy. The world needs more cheerful and uplifting notes to bash away all of today’s discordant noise.

When I’m near Tipperary (usually each summer), I can’t resist singing “It’s not very far to Tipperary, It’s not very far at all . . . .”

You started to sing too late.

That song always reminds me of the last episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Turns out it wasn’t so far after all!

“Yankee Doodle Dandy” is a great musical (with James Cagney showing he could sing and dance) I think it’s the ideal movie for the 4th of July (along with 1776 which is good but not as much fun). It’s vaguely the bio of George M. Cohen who wrote many of the great WWI era songs such as Over There.

With the overview, at first I only saw the “B” and was thinking it was a billion miles away. Which might also be funny, but wouldn’t really have been in character for Peanuts. (By the way, I’d march a billion miles to get away from this overview!)

At my age, you’d think I would know where Tipperary is but at my age I don’t even need to where Tipperary is.

Well, it’s probably still a long way to Petaluma…
