Peggy Fleming was an ice skater. Is this a winter camp?

The gym teacher at my school was named Roscoe Fleming. He got awfully tired of telling kids he was no relation!

You’ll find out soon enough, Charlie.

Peppermint Patty is sooo hot for Chuck but he wants absolutely nothing to do with her (can you blame him). I guess he is smart enough to realize that if he told her he did not like her and that she is as ugly as a buffalo she would stomp a mud hole in him…thus his silence!

Later, of course, she mentions Mama Cass legs to Marcie.

As a figure skater, I can tell you that all summer long the rinks have figure-skating camps!

Does she think the lake will freeze overnight?

So she is saying she has fit, muscular legs?

Well, she has sort of red hair, CB.

is it a bad sign that before we got to the last panel I was thinking “peggy flemming legs?”

Schulz and Peggy Fleming were good friends, as she was one of the well known figure skaters who performed in some of the shows he produced at his ice rink.

I still say they were made for each other. A couple of misfits who get along well. CB needs to be a little more sensitive. This could be fun.

Peggy Fleming was beautiful, I remember her growing up – and she was so graceful. Such a swanlike quality on ice. That may be what Peppermint Patty was referring to. But Patty doesn’t really bring that to mind when she walks or runs… too much of a tomboy.
