Kind of subtle, but replace Marigold’s “in adulthood, curses are considered rude and generally frowned upon” with “in adulthood, curse WORDS (and insults) are considered rude and generally frowned upon”, and you have a nice little message for the internet……
Dana! what are you doing? You really need to change out Phoebe for Dakota if you are going to rise above the pack of snarky comic page kids trying to one up someone. Pheb suspicious, rude, and mean is a very weak character. She isn’t pretty, smart, or powerful enough. The snark needs an innocent character to play off of ala Abbot/Costello or it gets dull and flat. See Tatulli’s Heart vs Dean, Everyone in Sherman’s Lagoon vs Sherman. Danae vs her pony. Any might work with the debunked not so great unicorn character. You’re gonna have to spend a lot of time thinking of the meanest thing the character has to say to win in the final panel. Calvin finally imploded when Hobbs started attacking him as a physical enemy. Or if you prefer wonder and grace colliding w/childhood innocence see Dennis Menace – today = burping with soda vs adults entertaining. His statement is about wonder of soda not how stupid the adults are.

While Phoebe wasn’t looking, she secretly swapped the lemonade pitcher for a pitcher full of… you get the idea. :)
