The first house I bought had a magnificent ash tree out front that I liked to climb. I’m long gone from that house but noticed on satellite images that the ash tree is gone too. Hopefully, the current residents are enjoying the three other trees that I planted when I was there.
If you plant a tree and 20 – 30 years later some kid falls out of it and is injured, who’s liable? I know the common sense answer, but I’m talking about today.
@CONNIE, Your words of wisdom ring true to me, I’m telling this while I eat a delicious mango from a tree I planted twenty years ago, I don’t live there anymore, But I still own the property and come and go as I please, Life’s been good to me! Peace out!
Some people complain about Frazz (or, more specifically, Mallett). Critics of Macbeth ask, “What about Lady Macbeth’s children, and why wasn’t she a better mother?” There is no mention of children in the play itself. Very bogus criticism. There would also be no point in bringing extra-textual information to a comic strip that doesn’t contain it or call for it. The characters in this strip do not in any way speak of trying to enlighten us, they just do sometimes. The strip, taken as what it is -a strip about climbing trees- is delightful. I’ll leave disparaging the strip to others who enjoy fantasizing and then puncturing their own fantasies. Self-gratification! Some people feel that’s the best way!

To climb a tree you have to plant a tree.

Even better than planting a tree, is not cutting down the ones that are already there.

I’m guessing Mary Bara did climb a lot of trees to get to where she is now in the corporate ladder. You don’t get to the top by sitting on your butt.

Do kids still climb trees?

It was said at one time that a squirrel could cross from the Atlantic Ocean to the Missippi River by tree.
