Nerium oleander /ˈnɪəriəm ˈoʊliːændər/3 is a shrub or small tree in the dogbane family Apocynaceae, toxic in all its parts. It is the only species currently classified in the genus Nerium. It is most commonly known as nerium4 or oleander, from its superficial resemblance to the unrelated olive Olea.[Note 1] It is so widely cultivated that no precise region of origin has been identified, though southwest Asia has been suggested. The ancient city of Volubilis in Morocco may have taken its name from the Berber name alili or oualilt for the flower.5 Oleander is one of the most poisonous commonly grown garden plants. Wikipedia
Only if she chews on it. Or uses it as a cooking spit. That’s what got people where I grew up where it was plentiful. Using it to spit hot dogs and such over an open fire. Otherwise, it’s just a pretty shrub.
Oleander is not harmful unless you eat it or use it as a cooking utensil.
Just to put it in perspective; all parts of Tomato, Eggplant, and Peppers are toxic EXCEPT the fruit. Many of the plants used in gardens have toxic parts and many have edible parts, just be sure you know how to use them properly or leave them alone.
Oleander is planted all over northern California as hedges along expressways, both for visual protection from headlights and because they’re sturdy enough when full grown to absorb the blow of a car while keeping it from crossing into oncoming. Speaking of which, I once saw a couple dressed as if on their way to their wedding who’d pulled their car off the expressway and were stealing oleander flowers. There was of course nothing to protect their hands from the sap and I’m not sure those last as cut flowers. I always wondered how that turned out for them.

Thehag: Tomato, potato, etc. are in the same family as the nightshades. Do not eat the leaves. Or you may leave.
