I enjoy detective shows, especially British ones (one in particular averages 4 murders per episodes….), Westerns, etc. My wife hates it: “Turn that off! It’s just all violence!”
Give her the remote and what do I get? True crime. Go figure. I keep telling her, at least with mine you know it’s fiction; with hers, a real person had to die for her entertainment. (Besides, the TC stuff is all so poorly done)

You’re so right.

Of course it matters! How else would you know to say, “it wouldn’t happen in real life”?

Is it not entertaining if it is a documentary about a murder? Entertainment is entertainment regardless of the type.

Most TV programing is geared to clueless Zombies who won’t/can’t produce their own entertainment!

This is true! I have no problem watching movies in which buildings are destroyed, but I still can’t watch anything depicting 9/11…

If it’s on TV, the answer is “not.”
