It’s called a “bundling bar”. A long time ago when homes were small and winters were cold, courting couples were sometimes allowed some privacy by climbing into or onto a bed. The headboard and footboard each had a slot. A long board was inserted in the slots, making a bar that divided the bed in half. Parents would check in to make sure the youngsters were staying on their own side of the bed – no leg over allowed!
True story from my Dad’s memoirs: In WWII the Royal Navy had taken over a seaside holiday camp to train new recruits. Sailors were billeted in cabins supplied with double beds. The Navy built and fitted wooden partitions to run down the middle of the beds to keep the sailors apart while they slept.

I think he removed one of the inserts from his pants.

Floyd, on the other hand, is contemplating using it to separate Brian from the room.

Love the pink and Maroon décor. And, of course, the painting.

I just hope that board was cut at that angle and it isn’t putting a tear in the fabric.

Floyd is thinking Hmm… I remembered to shower before coming over. It can’t be that.

Now maximize your glee, Brian; reach around the board and honk his nose. Full-hand grab.

One thing, Betty isn’t always happy about the bolster on the bed.
Except for taco Tuesday. She’s fine with any kind of distance then.

Walls are better, providing no one tries to tear them down.

If Brian says “I’m gonna have to call a meeting of the board”, run…

Brian’s friend wishes he had 5 more boards there to have 6 degrees of separation…..and maybe even one more.

Others agree that separation from Brian is a good idea.
